There’s the sense that a single bad review can kill your business. Or that a handful of unhappy customers can send new customers away and ruin your brand in the search engines. And while it’s important for a small business to build an online review strategy, it’s equally important to remember that we’re all human. A few bad reviews won’t kill your business. In fact, those negative reviews may even help.
If you’ve been in business for a while, you’re bound to get a bad review. We are only human, and sometimes we falter in our dealings with customers. What I appreciate about this post is facing the reality that even negative reviews can be leveraged for success.
Taking the easy road means throwing in the towel and succumbing to disappointment, but taking the hard road means being an entrepreneur — and that means not giving up. There are many ways to “change the conversation,” and it’s our responsibility to seize each and every one of those moments. I’ve been on the OTHER side too — when a company went that extra mile to apologize and fix their mistake. It builds trust, and makes for a loyal customer.
